IA Control Solutions was contacted by (Mill Process Control Supervisor at IAMGOLD Gold Mine in Suriname) to assist with visualization of wonderware servers (Galaxy, Historian and WIS) and migration from Wonderware System Platform 2014 R2 to Wonderware System Platform 2017 Update 3 and setting up of Wonderware System Platform 2017 Update 3 in a virtual environment so as to fit in with the IAMGOLD IT standards and policies.
The Rosebel property lies approximately 85 kilometers south of the capital city of Paramaribo. The mining concession covers 170 square kilometers, with the Suriname River to the east, the Saramacca River to the west and the Brokopondo reserve to the south.
The System makes use of 4 DELL Servers in a cluster configuration managed by VSPHERE Software. Distributed across these 4 servers are 7 Windows 2016 virtual Machines of which 5 are used for the System Platform requirements.
The System was setup successfully with the help and interaction of the IT department’s team. It was left running in conjunction with the Wonderware System Platform 2014 R2 system to ensure that no long-term bugs would present itself.
